Lackey Livestock, located in Aspermont, Texas, has been producing quality commercial and show stock for years. Originally created and founded by Bill and Ronnie Lackey, the business is now maintained and managed by Jason and Jackie Lackey who recently moved back to Aspermont in December 2008. Although Lackey Livestock has run cattle for years, Jason's passion for the swine industry has led to the expansion of a sow herd that consists of 20 sows made up of Chesters, Yorks, Hamps and Crosses.
Jason and Jackie both have extensive livestock backgrounds. Their passion for the livestock industry paved their ways through college where they were both a part of national champion wool and livestock judging teams at Texas A&M University. Jason and Jackie both received Masters degrees from Texas A&M in Animal Science and Agribusiness respectively. Currently, Jason is nearing the end of his PhD at Louisiana State University in Human Resource Education. He works for a Midland-based Oil Company and has continued the well service business in Aspermont that his dad and granddad have been maintaining for many years. Jackie owns Encore Visions Advertising Studio that caters to those in the agricultural field. Encore Visions produces any type of advertising and/or marketing mediums for small to large companies from web development to print advertising to business plans.
Their proudest accomplishment to date was the birth of their son, Weston Lackey, on June 21st 2008. Jason and Jackie are excited to pursue their livestock interests and look forward to working with you whether you are looking for show pigs or cattle.
